The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has officially announced that its National Delegates’ Conference (NDC) will take place from July 25 to July 27, 2025, at the Bintumani International Conference Center in Freetown.
This pivotal event will see the election of new national executive officers who will lead the ruling party into the 2028 general elections and other key political engagements across the country.
The proposed NDC is expected to also replace the current National Chairman, Dr. Prince Alex Harding and the National Leader; the sitting President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
Leading up to the NDC, the SLPP will continue with its internal lower-level elections. Regional elections are scheduled for June 17, 2025, followed by the SLPP Young Generation Conference and elections, which will be held in Bo District. On June 20, 2025, the party will convene in Pujehun District to elect the leader of the National Women’s Council before heading to Freetown for the main event in July.
This critical convention underscores the SLPP’s commitment to effective leadership, party unity, and democratic governance. In accordance with the SLPP Constitution adopted on February 5, 2021, only fully registered and dues-paying members will be eligible to vote. Members are therefore strongly encouraged to complete their registration, settle any outstanding dues, and confirm that their names appear on the official membership lists in their respective zones.
A validated final list of eligible voters will be made public two days before the conference to ensure transparency and credibility in the election process.
The SLPP expresses its sincere appreciation to all members for their continued support and reaffirmed its dedication to a smooth, transparent, and democratic process. The party emphasizes its commitment to fair elections, where every member’s voice is heard, as part of its broader mission to strengthen democratic values and ensure the continued growth and success of the SLPP.
