The Executive Director, Mr James Baggie Bio, held a fruitful deliberation with importers of Kekehs and Motorcycles at his headquarters, Kissy Road, Freetown. Mr Bio welcomed and appreciated them for their swift response to his call. He went on to declare the purpose of the meeting. Mr Bio stated that the government, international partners, and the general public are very much concerned over the credibility and integrity of data from importers to be used in informed decision-making. “Without credible and realistic data, it would be difficult for the government to plan properly,” he added.

Mr. Bio urged Importers and dealers of Kekeh and Motorcycles to make sure they registered and Licensed their kekehs and bikes before selling them to customers. He encouraged them to comply with the new administrative policy and follow due process to maintain a harmonious working relationship as defaulters would face the full force of the laws.

Mr Bio furthered that he will soon introduce a Mobile Station to target smugglers, unregistered and unlicensed vehicles within the country.
Mr. Ambrose Tucker, the Manager of Research and Development, read the MOU for ease of understanding and to make necessary adjustments.
