Dr Ibrahim Bangura Gains Momentum as Germany Steps Up Campaign

Following earlier reflections on Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s political roots and international experience, this third piece focuses on the growing efforts from the diaspora in support of his candidacy.

On Friday, June 6, Team Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, Germany, held its first in-person planning meeting in Frankfurt, bringing together committed APC members determined to organise structured support for his campaign.

The meeting was described as focused and strategic, marking the beginning of a broader mobilisation across Europe, with similar gatherings planned in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Central to the discussions was the aim of strengthening campaign efforts among diaspora APC supporters and coordinating activities that align with Dr. Bangura’s values of unity, transparency, and service.

The campaign strategy was outlined by the European lead coordinator, Umaru Jah, who also authored this article. He emphasised the group’s mission to promote disciplined, grassroots mobilisation in support of Dr. Bangura’s vision. In his address, Jah stressed that leadership should embody consistency, clarity, and a commitment to both the party and the country. He noted that Dr. Bangura continues to exemplify political engagement that prioritises people and principles.

In addition to direct engagement, the team has initiated various on-the-ground support efforts. These include producing radio jingles that are now being broadcast by local stations in Sierra Leone and printing banners and billboards to encourage APC members to register and verify their status. Plans are also underway to support APC-led events in Sierra Leone, all under the name and message of Team Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, Germany.

Members at the Frankfurt meeting reaffirmed their commitment to growing support not only in Europe but also across Sierra Leone. They discussed the necessity for active outreach, structured communication, and a campaign that reflects discipline and inclusion. Although Dr. Bangura was not physically present, his leadership message remained central to the meeting’s agenda.

As this movement continues to gain momentum, Team Germany has positioned itself as a key component of Dr. Bangura’s campaign infrastructure abroad. Their activities signify a shift from passive support to active, organised campaigning—one that aims to contribute meaningfully to the APC and the political future of the country.
