A POEM DEDICATED TO HONOURABLE CHIEF JUSTICE KOMBA KAMANDA ON HIS 6TH-MONTH-ANNIVERSARY

Half-A-Year Full Of Reforms!

By Elkass Sannoh

From December’s oath taking to June’s bright sun, He’s shown how justice must be done.
From Courts lower and higher, his vision inspires and echoes by the Chinese Ambassador Wang Qing

Six months today, 16th June 2025, and it seems a nation awakes from long-lost dreams.
Where silence ruled and files kept on ice or dusty shelves,
Now justice speaks—resolute and bold.

With youthful grace and seasoned mind, Justice Kamanda stepped to bind the law to truth, the courts to pace, Restoring trust, renewing confidence.

The backlogs once a stubborn wall, Now tremble at reform’s clear call.
Decisions flow with timely speed, No longer delay impedes.

He brought to Bench a modern flame, Digitalized systems, clean of shame.
Courtrooms lit with clearer light, Records kept and judgments delivered right.

So rise, O robe of honour, you prevented the Undersheriff’s Office from carrying out executions without approval, You prevented Court Registrars from signing approved Court Adoption Orders, You provided uniforms to staff and ordered staff to sign Attendance Register, You yielded to the request of the Media Reform Coordinating Group to assign a sitting Magistrate in Mile 91, You embarked on unannounced Court monitoring and ordered Court sittings to commence at 9:00am.

In robes not worn with age alone, But wisdom carved from stone to stone.

The youngest gavel in the land, Now firmly held in steady hand.
Not ruled by fear, nor lured by praise, But guided by the law’s true majesty.

In every province, every town, The law no longer looks down.
Access enhanced, the gaps narrowed—
He’s taking justice deep within.

Discipline walks beside his robe, And merit finds its rightful globe.
Appointments made with open eyes, No room for games or whispered corruption.

For half-a-year of noble norms— We hail this Chief Justice full of reforms, With each reform, a hopeful cry,
A brighter court beneath the sky.

In half a month, the scales now tilt for everyone,
So here we stand, a grateful land.

We are shouting atop the Lion Mountain To Say CONGRATULATIONS OUR LORD CHIEF JUSTICE!
