NRA’s Deputy Commissioner General- 1 Leads Delegation at IMF AFRITAC West 2 Steering Committee Meeting

The National Revenue Authority (NRA) through the Deputy Commissioner General 1, Mrs. Ann Marie Baby Harding and team which included Dr. Sheku Kamara an Assistant Director at the Monitoring Research and Planning Department and Mrs. Annmarie Massaquoi, Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner General 1 represented the NRA at the 12th Steering Committee Meeting of the International Monetary Fund’s AFRITAC West 2, held from July 7th to 8th 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria.


The meeting brought together senior officials from Six (6) West African countries; including Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Liberia, The Gambia, and Cabo Verde to discuss and adopt the Financial Year 2026 workplan that is aimed at strengthening institutional capacity in support of economic recovery and resilience. The discussions centered around revenue administration, monetary policy and financial sector supervision, public financial management, and statistics.


In her statement, Mrs. Harding emphasized the importance of regional collaboration in enhancing tax administration and revenue mobilization strategies. She noted, “Our participation in this meeting underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to improving its revenue systems through shared knowledge and best practices. By engaging with our regional counterparts, we aim to adopt innovative approaches that will bolster our national efforts in fiscal management and economic development.”
The Sierra Leone delegation’s involvement in this high-level meeting reflects the country’s dedication to strengthening its tax administration framework and aligning with regional standards and practices.
