Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice Komba Kamanda Joins Sierra Leoneans To Pay Last Respect To Late Justice Binneh-Kamara

Judiciary of Sierra Leone Communications, 20th July, 2025, Water Street, Congo Town in Freetown:* Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Komba Kamanda has today joined hundreds of Sierra Leoneans from all walks of life to pay last respect to late Justice Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh-Kamara.

In a sombre atmosphere, the Honourable Chief Justice was accompanied by Justices of the Superior Court of Judicature, including ECOWAS Court Judge, Honourable Justice Sengu Mohamed Koroma JSC.

Until his death, late Justice Dr. Binneh-Kamara was Court of Appeal Judge and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Fourah Bay College- University of Sierra Leone.

While sympathizing with the Binneh-Kamara family, the Honourable Chief Justice said, “we should celebrate his life as a distinguished judge and a teacher who was highly respected.” He went on to state that the late Honourable Justice Dr. Binneh-Kamara was very recently appointed to the Court of Appeal due to his knowledge of the law, dedication and long service in the Judiciary.
He summarized his passing as a “tremendous loss.”

The late Honourable Justice Dr. Binneh-Kamara died at the age of 48 years on Tuesday, 15th July, 2025 and was buried at the Congo Town cemetery immediately after the Jananza prayer at the Hezbulla Mosque, Congo Town in Freetown.

Meanwhile, the Judiciary will be observing a solemn session in memory of the late Court of Appeal Judge, Honourable Justice Dr. Binneh-Kamara on Thursday, 24th July, 2025 at the Main Law Courts Building in Freetown.
