Newly Elected SLPP Deputy National Chairman Shows Gratitude To First Lady, Others

If today I’m the newly elected Deputy National Chairman of the oldest and most prestigious political party in West Africa, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), there are certain people whose contributions, both financial and moral, that made it happened.
In that light, I owe a debt of heartfelt gratitude to a woman whose impacts on my life and political journey cannot be measured. She has been a mixture of a mother, an aunt, a sister, and most importantly, a pillar of inspiration and strength. Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr Fatima Maada Bio, is a beacon of light for many of us, especially those of us rising in mainstream politics.

Your Excellency, your unwavering belief in young people like me, and your bold courage in the face of adversity, speak volumes of your true leadership spirit. Your resilience, grace under pressure, and ability to lead with calmness and dignity are qualities that continue to inspire this generation and the next.

From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the entire Team ROB, I want to say thank you for your incredible support. You have been my shield in the storm, my compass in uncertain moments. Without your covering, I might have been scorched by the fire of this journey. But under your umbrella, I found strength, courage, and purpose.
To His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio, Leader of our great party, thank you for creating a political space where young leaders can emerge and thrive. Your leadership has paved the way for youth inclusion, and I am a living testimony of that vision.
I also extend heartfelt gratitude to every single individual who supported me financially and morally. To my committed campaign team—those who walked with me through villages, towns, and cities in the sun and in the rain, preaching our message and igniting hope; this triumph is yours. You are more than a team; you are a family.
Special thanks also go to colleague journalists and the SLPP bloggers—you wielded your pens and keypads like swords. You gave life to my message. You transformed our campaign into a movement. Your creativity, consistency, and digital energy lifted my spirit during the toughest of days. I am grateful for your penmanship and your passion.

To the delegates, your votes were not just ballots; they were statements of confidence in my ability to help steer the SLPP ship towards a 2028 victory. You have chosen the path of vision, unity, and renewal. I do not take this mandate lightly. I am here to serve, to unite, and to lead with purpose.

And finally, to all SLPP supporters and the silent workers behind the scenes; you made this victory possible. You made me who I am. I promise to uphold the values of our party, to serve all, and to work hand in hand with Chairman Jimmy Batilo Songa and the new executive to deliver victory in 2028.
May God bless the First Family.
And may God continue to bless the SLPP—our party, our pride.
Long live the SLPP. Long live Sierra Leone.
Signed,
Robert Kondema Kargbo
National Deputy Chairman, Sierra Leone People’s Party
