PROPOSED DEPUTY MINISTER 2 FACES PARLIAMENTARY VETTINGS

– Ms. Jenneh Jabati, the proposed Deputy Minister 2 of Finance, on Friday appeared before the Parlimentary Committee on Appointments of the Public Service in Parliament of Sierra Leone to respond to questions regarding her suitability for the role

During the session, Ms. Jabati highlighted her extensive professional background, noting that she has worked for over 37 years with the Bank of Sierra Leone. She emphasized that her vast experience in the financial sector has prepared her to serve effectively in the Deputy Minister position, should her appointment be approved.

“I believe in teamwork and achieving effective results,” Ms. Jabati told the committee, affirming her readiness to collaborate closely with the Minister of Finance to deliver on the Ministry’s agenda.

She further described herself as “a woman of integrity” who remains strictly committed to compliance and ethical standards. Responding to inquiries about her leadership style, Ms. Jabati stated that her advice and actions would be guided by situational analysis and sound judgment.

Ms. Jabati also cited her strong administrative skills, which she pledged to bring to the Finance Ministry in support of efforts to promote and sustain the country’s economic growth.

Her vetting marks another critical step in the ongoing process of forming a capable and transparent leadership team at the Ministry of Finance.

The Proposed Deputy Minister is expected to be approved on Tuesday 5/8/2025 in the Chamber of Parliament with other political appointees.
