Magistrate Kallon Sentences Man To 2 Yrs Imprisonment

A man identified as Jonathan Langba has been sentenced to two years imprisonment after being found guilty of larceny and malicious damage.
Langba was arrested on 13th May 2025 and brought before the court on two counts: Larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916, and malicious damage, contrary to Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1816.
According to the prosecution, led by Police Constable 15098 Sesay, the incident occurred on Saturday, 10th May 2025, at Dundas Street, Freetown.
Langba was found to have stolen a smart watch valued at Le1, 300, the property of Lancelot Loray. He was also convicted of maliciously damaging a car tape worth Le2, 400, also owned by Loray.
After reviewing the evidence and submissions, the court handed down a two-year custodial sentence.
