LRA CG & DELEGATION GET WARM WELCOME TO S/LEONE

Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah and his delegation received a rousing welcome at the Sierra Leonean border town of Jendema, en route to the 7th High-Level Policy Dialogue and General Assembly of the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) taking place in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

At the border, cultural performances and warm pleasantries welcomed the CG and delegation, sending a strong sign of Sierra Leonean hospitality and the close bonds between the two nations.
The National Revenue Authority (NRA) of Sierra Leone is hosting the weeklong event from 15–19 September, which brings together West African tax officials, experts, and partners to discuss ways of improving and simplifying revenue collection to foster development across the region.

Welcoming CG Jallah and the LRA delegation on behalf of NRA Commissioner General Jeneba Bangura, Customs Manager Mujiru I. I. Kallon said the two countries and their revenue authorities share strong fraternal ties, which continue to strengthen mutual growth and cooperation.
“As Africans, we should be our brothers’ keepers, and Liberia has demonstrated that to Sierra Leone,” Kallon remarked.

In response, CG Jallah expressed gratitude for the warm reception, stating:
“We feel we are at home; we are all one family. A success for Sierra Leone means a success for Liberia, and a success for Liberia equally means a success for Sierra Leone.”
He reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between the two countries and their revenue authorities, commending NRA CG Jeneba Bangura for the heartfelt welcome and cordial ties.

CG Jallah is leading a high-powered technical delegation to the WATAF meetings aimed at fostering stronger collaboration and leveraging opportunities that will further strengthen the LRA in achieving its ambitious US$1 billion revenue target.
