–SLPP North America PRO, Patrick Maada Koroma
The outgoing Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) North America branch, Patrick Maada Koroma, has described the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) as a “destructive and dishonest” political party that has failed to contribute meaningfully to Sierra Leone’s development.
He made the statement during a recent interview with an online media outlet, in which he assessed the role of the opposition during the SLPP’s seven-year governance period from 2018 to 2025.
According to Koroma, the APC has consistently refused to collaborate with the SLPP administration on national development initiatives.
“For the past seven years, the APC has done nothing to support national progress. Instead, they have operated from the shadows, inciting faceless protests and demonstrations,” he alleged.
He further claimed that the APC’s primary concern inResolution 8 the national unity dialoguewas the release of its members imprisoned for involvement in various protests across the country.
Koroma also called on the APC to publicly apologize to the people of Sierra Leone for what he termed “years of bad governance and economic hardship” during their time in power. He accused the former APC administration of mismanaging the country’s natural resources through questionable mining agreements that benefited only a select few.
“In contrast,” he added, “the real benefits from mining are now being realized under the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio.”
Koroma concluded by stressing that Sierra Leone’s progress depends on honest, patriotic leadership and a responsible opposition willing to put the nation first.
