APC Membership Drive…*100,000 Forms Issued out*40,000 Received

The National Publicity Secretary of the opposition All Peoples’ Congress (APC) Sidi Yayah Tunis has recently revealed the status of the party ongoing membership registration and verification drive across the country.
Speaking recently in one local media institution, the APC Mouthpiece disclosed that the party national secretariat has issued out over one hundred thousand new membership registration forms across the country, adding that out of the number issued out; over forty thousand have been received by the National Secretary- General.
The APC Spokesperson also stated that a key reason for conducting the ongoing nationwide membership registration and verification drive is to ascertain and know the strength of the party and also to keep track of data of all registered members of the party.
Sidi Yayah Tunis also stated that the National executive through the information and technology wing have developed a new software package for the membership registration drive which include a new biometric identification card for members.
The APC Speaker also stated that the current number of form issued out does not include those in the Diaspora and that then national executive has received several reports of challenges in the ongoing process.
Sidi Yayah Tunis also spoke about how someone would become a member of the party, noting that the new APC 2022 constitution clearly spelt out the process and criteria’s’.
He also urged older members of the party to verify their data and other information, noting that aggrieved and former members of the party are also encouraged to join the process.
However, the National Secretary General of the APC, Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya, has recently disclosed that they would address some of these challenges and present a comprehensive report and database at the end of the process.
He also noted that there were lots of discrepancies in the membership database of the party, adding that High Court ordered arrangement necessitated a temporary registration which had shown lots of discrepancies in the membership database of the party.
According to the APC NSG, the national executive took over from the ITGC and that they inherited duplication of registration numbers, stockpiles of unattended membership application forms and also the proliferation of fake membership cards and payment receipts amongst other issues that are major challenges at the party HQ.
In addition, the National Chairman of APC, Hon Minkailu Mansaray has lately stated that the party must operate as one if they are to win the 2028 general elections and take State House.
He also reacted to the allegation of bribery levied against the national executive of the party describing them as dangerous allegations.
