The All Peoples Congress (APC) has launched what it calls a National Movement for Political Change, declaring Bo District as the symbolic Launchpad for its return to governance in 2028.
Speaking at the opening of the APC Youth Congress in Bo, the party’s National Deputy Chairman, Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh, urged party loyalists; particularly the youth to commit to the APC’s mission, values, and vision. “The battle for national redemption has officially begun,” he declared.
Amb. Yansaneh was emphatic in his criticism of the ruling SLPP, stating that Sierra Leone “cannot afford another five years” under its leadership. He described the 2028 elections as the most consequential in the nation’s recent history.
He encouraged youths to dominate the digital space, support the national census, and prepare to run for public office at all levels. “Strategy, unity, and loyalty-not noise; will deliver victory,” he said.
Representing APC Chairman Minkailu Mansaray, Amb. Yansaneh described Bo as historically significant for the party. “This is not the first major APC gathering here, but let it be remembered as a defining moment,” he said.
He commended the discipline and energy of APC youths, calling their involvement “vital for the next political chapter of Sierra Leone.” Drawing inspiration from youth-led political movements across Africa, he warned against internal betrayal and referenced the myth of the Trojan Horse as a cautionary tale.
“You are not the future leaders,” he told the youth. “You are the leaders now,” he added.
Concluding, he called on development partners and international stakeholders to ensure the full implementation of the reforms outlined in the tripartite agreement. With a message of unity, purpose and strategic action, Amb. Yansaneh rallied the youth to become the driving force behind the APC’s resurgence.
