The name Honourable Manso Dumbuya is a household name across the political landscape in Sierra Leone.
He joined the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in 1961, ascending through the party structures from a young pioneer to Propaganda Secretary, and currently he presides as the Chairman of the Western Region.
The incontrovertible reason SLPP delegates should vote for Honorable Manso Dumbuya to retain his position on April 15 2025, hinges on the fact that, he is an election winner which makes him uncontestable.
He played a crucial role for the SLPP to return to governance in 1996, after 25 years of brutal oppression and political isolation by the APC.
Honourable Manso Dumbuya also played a key role in the election and re-election of President Julius Maada Bio in 2018 and 2023 respectively.
As Chairman of SLPP Western Region he has increased political gains by winning 12 parliamentary seats and 31 Councilors, from a Zero representation in the legislature and local Councils in 2012.
The main purpose of establishing structures within a political party is to win national elections and eventually form a government.
In that regard, the strategies of Honourable Manso Dumbuya has won multiple general elections, as Chairman of the SLPP Western Region.
The winner of an election is like a footballer who is consistent in scoring goals to winning matches, and Honourable Manso Dumbuya is doing likewise in the political landscape for the SLPP.
The analogy aptly fits Honourable Manso Dumbuya who has been winning elections by persuading plenty northerners to join the SLPP, and he is poised to doing the same in the crucial 2028 general elections.
Therefore, Honourable Manso Dumbuya remains uncontestable because SLPP Western Region delegates will overwhelmingly elect him on 15th April 2025.
