Stakeholders of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) have, during the official handing over ceremony of the party’s Bo District office construction site to the new Bo District Executive, singled out the former Regional Chairman Alhaji Dr Kanja Sesay for some heartwarming praise, thanking him for his stellar contributions to the party in the district and the southern region.
While handing over the under-construction site to the new district executive, Alhaji Dr Kanja Sesay appreciated the role of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio towards the accomplishment of the project.

He said he was happy that after the National Officers’ elections, President Bio had personally asked the elected National Chairman Jimmy Batilo Songa and the new Bo District Chairman Hindowa Bindi to reach out to him-Pa Kanja -so that they would devise strategies and collaborate in the quest to complete the facility.
Pa Kanja said the facility will serve as the Bo District Office, noting however that because Bo is the regional headquarters of the southern region, they had allocated rooms to Moyamba, Bonthe and Pujehun for use during regional gatherings.

He thanked the people of Bo for their support to him and the party and promised that he was committed to working with them and for them for the success of the party.
SLPP National Chairman, Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, hailed Pa Kanja as a man of the people and mobilizer of the SLPP’, adding that he had wasted no time in reaching out to him after the instructions from the President.
Chairman Jimmy Batilo Songa implored the audience to accord Pa Kanja a standing ovation, referring to him as “a living legend, the man among men, the Mansah of the Madingo people, and the Coordinator and Mibilizer of the SLPP.”

Chairman Songa furthered that the outgone Pa.Kanja administration did not only leave an ongoing office construction, but also a whopping sum of Nle, 600,000 in the region’s account, stressing that, Pa. Kanja has demonstrated high level of accountability and transparency and,in the process portraying himself as a true father-figure in the Southern region. He stated that the name Alhaji Kanja Sesay will forever be etched in the annals of the SLPP, thanking him for his true service to the party.
Former Bo District Chairman and also former Resident Minister South,Mohamed Ali,spoke about the conception and inception of the project,praising all stakeholders for their collaboration and commitment to the implementation of the project.
SLPP Regional Secretary South,Francis Massaquoi,said the history of the party office would be incomplete if Alhaji Kanja Sesay was omitted from the narrative. He said Pa Kanja’s love for the party had made him offer the piece of land and fully commit himself to starting the project.
He vowed to ensure the continuation of the project,describing the facility as critical to the effective functioning of the party in the region and the district.
Hon. Neneh Lebbie,a sitting Member of Parliament for Bo district,and the Mayor of Bo City,His Worship Kobba Musa,did not hide their admiration of Pa Kanja,with the Mayor suggesting that the hall be named The Alhaji Kanja Sesay Hall after the completion of the project.
SLPP Bo District Council Chairman,Kosseh Bindi Hindowa,endorsed the proposal for the hall to be named after Pa Kanja. He described him as a respectable statesman,stakeholder and elder in the country,the SLPP, the southern region, and Bo district.
