For 2028 Elections… APC Ready Clean Sweep, No More Dialogue-APC Deputy Publicity Secretary Says

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, of the opposition All Peoples Congress (APC), Mohamed Pope Kamara has recently disclosed that the National Young Congress is preparing to hold its upcoming National Youth Congress in Bo city from the 24th-26th October this year.
Speaking during the official launching of the APC Young Peoples Costume, to the deputy mouthpiece, further informed that the said move reflects the party’s adherence to the Political Parties Regulation (PPRC) Act and a commitment to transparency and order in its internal democratic processes.
He also noted that the move is a sign of the party’s readiness to win the 2028 general elections with clean sweep victory.
However, he stated that the APC will not hold any dialogue with any other political party until the 2028 elections are successfully held, adding that any future dialogue should be a win-win situation for all.
Mohamed Pope Kamara also stated that the party hierarchy has officially rolled-out its comprehensive timeline for internal party elections, setting the stage for what promises to be a pivotal build-up to the 2026 national elections.
He also noted that the event is a key step toward grassroots mobilization and support for victory in the forthcoming 2028 general elections, adding that the last time the APC youths held a congress was ten years ago. He however noted that a High Court injunction in 2022 put on hold several of the party’s annual activities.
Speaking to this press, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary stated that all arrangements have been put in place for the successful holding of the event, adding that the event is for young people coming together and help shape the APC to victory in 2028.
Mohamed Pope Kamara also stated that the party young minds will use the event to guide and navigate strategies that the party will use to win the 2028 general elections, noting that it is the youths of the nation that are suffering the most and therefore called on them to be vigilant and resilient as they prepare for the 2028 political cycle.
According to the announced schedule, the first major milestone comes on April 28, 2025, when the APC will submit its internal election rules and regulations to the PPRC, formally initiating the internal electoral process.
A key step toward grassroots mobilization will follow on July 19, 2025, with the publication of the voter and membership register ahead of the ward elections scheduled for August 10, 2025. These local-level contests will empower members to take part in shaping the party’s leadership at the base.
Just three days later, on August 13, 2025, the APC, he said, will release the list of delegates set to participate in the constituency conventions on September 4, 2025. These conventions will include both local and diaspora chapters, highlighting the party’s global reach.
The internal election process, he added, will intensify with district conventions scheduled for September 30, 2025, followed by regional conventions on October 24, 2025. These regional conventions will also include delegates from the diaspora’s Sixth Region. These steps are designed to broaden participation and ensure inclusiveness across all levels of the party.
In a further demonstration of its commitment to inclusivity, the APC will conduct elections for various affiliated bodies and special wings on October 15, 2025. These include the National Union of APC Students, the Former MPs Group, Local Council representatives, the Persons with Disability Wing, and other associate groups.
Attention will then turn to the special organs conventions, including the Women’s Congress, Veterans Congress, and Young Congress; set to take place on November 17, 2025. The list of delegates for these conventions will be published on October 26, 2025.
The electoral cycle will culminate in the highly anticipated National Delegates Conference, scheduled for February 17–19, 2026. The official date and venue will be announced on August 16, 2025, with the agenda and final delegate list to be released in January 2026.
This structured roadmap not only reflects the APC’s readiness for the 2026 national elections but also reaffirms its commitment to internal democracy and broad-based member engagement.
