In her role as Legal Advisor, Captain Kamara made national impact by successfully prosecuting a high-profile court-martial case, leading twelve witnesses in a case that helped uphold discipline and accountability within the military.
Her work ensures legal integrity at the highest levels and reinforces trust in the justice system.
Beyond her courtroom contributions, she serves as the Human Rights Focal Person between RSLAF and the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone; a role in which she championed institutional reforms that earned RSLAF the Best Human Rights Security Institution in the country.
Her commitment to justice and dignity for all Sierra Leoneans began long before her military career.
As a paralegal and advocate, she provided free legal services to women and girls which promoted access to justice in both the Northern and Southern Regions.
She has worked with organizations such as Access to Justice Law Centre and the Centre for Access to Justice Peace and Human Rights, helping victims reconcile with their families and reintegrate into society.
Internationally, she has served in peacekeeping operations in Mali, earning both the UN Peacekeeping Medal and the Major Sowa Award from the Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS) in the United States; a recognition of her leadership, professionalism, and courage.
Outside her military uniform, Captain Kamara is deeply invested in Sierra Leone’s future.
She has served as a Lecturer at Bo Community College, she also regularly teaches summer school classes at Our Lady of Guadalupe Primary School in Lunsar, introducing children to new curricula ahead of the academic year; a volunteer effort that supports the country’s Free Quality Education initiative.
She is the founder of the Konta Line Foundation, a community development organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged girls. The foundation primarily supports children across four communities within the Masimera Chiefdom.
Equally passionate about national development, she is also an agriculturist and commercial farmer, cultivating both cash and perennial crops. Her farming efforts not only promote food security but also create employment opportunities in rural communities.
