Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is a distinguished Sierra Leonean academic, author, and peace advocate. Born in Sierra Leone, his passion for education led him to Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree. He furthered his studies internationally, obtaining a Master of Science degree from the University of London and ultimately achieving a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Dr. Bangura dedicated a significant part of his career to academia, serving as a respected lecturer at Fourah Bay College. His commitment extended beyond the classroom into the vital fields of human rights, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding. He gained practical experience working with prominent organizations like Amnesty International and the Campaign for Good Governance (CGG).

A pivotal figure in Sierra Leone’s development landscape, Dr. Bangura is the founder and Executive Director of the Centre for Development and Peace Education (CDPE). Through CDPE, he spearheads initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable peace, promoting civic education, and empowering communities across Sierra Leone.

His expertise is reflected in his scholarly contributions, including publications like The Temne of Sierra Leone: African Agency in the Making of a British Colony.
