LPD Supports Madina Disater Victims

Following a storm disaster that hit the Madina Community in the Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom in Port Loko on Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, the LUNGI Power Development (LPD) has provided support for victims.


It could be recalled that a huge cotton tree was uprooted by a heavy storm that fell on seven houses, causing injuries and wounding several residents. At least fifteen people have been hospitalised at the Lungi Government Hospital with the support of LPD.

The head of operation of LPD Recando and AR Suntan, the Managing Director, called on the Paramount Chief of Kaffu Bullom and informed him that they are responsible for the hospital bils of the victims. Madina is one of the host communities of LPD. According to the Managing Director, the support is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of LPD, demonstrating whatever affects the host community would indirectly affect them or have adverse effect on them.

The MD also used the opportunity of the exclusive interview to disclose that they are going to construct the demolished houses.

LPD, the Managing Director, said they are working hard to provide over 65 megawatt of solar electrification for the entire Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom and beyond.

The Hon. Paramout Chief of KAFFU BULLOM Chiefdom Hon SHEBORA GBERE 3RD lauded the effort of LPD towards the victims. He noted that their support is timely and would ameliorate the situation of the victims. According to him, the decision by President Bio and Vice President to select LPD to provide electricity is a step in the right direction. Electricity the Paramout Chief acknowledged would bring development and job creation. Many people, including businesses and hotels, would develop through electricity.


The Paramount Chief also commended the swift intervention of Lungi Government Hospital and luaded the government for establishment and improving same. He heaped praises on the hospital management and team.

LPD is now on full scale of operation, the Hon. Paramount Chief stated and also called on others to complement development. He used the opportunity to call on other stakeholders, including the community, to support the construction project. He also thanked the police for their intervention and support and asked them to continue to improve on collaboration and community policing.
