May 3, 2025… NPSE Exam

The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has officially announced that the 2025 National Primary School Examination (NPSE) will be conducted on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
In a public notice released earlier this week, the Ministry strongly advised all heads of primary schools to verify their assigned examination centers ahead of time. This measure is intended to minimize confusion and prevent last-minute changes or relocation issues on the day of the exam.
Parents and guardians have been reminded that they are not permitted within or around the premises of examination centers, a directive aimed at ensuring a smooth and secure examination environment for all candidates.
The National Primary School Examination is a standardized test conducted annually by the MBSSE for pupils in their final year of primary school (Class 6). It serves as a key requirement for admission into junior secondary school (JSS1) across Sierra Leone. The NPSE assesses pupils’ proficiency in core subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, and General Studies, and plays a critical role in shaping the academic trajectory of young learners.
Over the years, the NPSE has grown in importance as part of Sierra Leone’s broader educational reforms, aimed at improving quality and access to education at all levels.
