Not Some People’s Congress…But All People’s Congress,” Dr IB avers

By Isaac Unisa Kamara (Isaac U K)

It was at Liberty Online TV’s “Breakfast Show”, Monday, 26th May 2025, when the highly missile political contender for the All People’s Congress (APC) party flagbearership, Dr Ibrahim Bangura, said it all while throwing light on misconceptions, misinterpretations, ideologies, and self-pretence that are abounding in Sierra Leone’s political landscape, all aiming to smear his merited accolade for the APC party flagbearership come 2026 during the party delegates conference.

Yes, he narrated the truth, and nothing else but the truth, that his vision for the flagbearership of the APC party is not for a specific set of people but for all and sundry. “Not some people’s congress but all people’s congress,” he noted.

He said his heartbeat is after meaningful contributions to the country’s furtherance and not to do things one ought not to, but to ensure robust security, recognised peace and stability within and without the country’s borders in a conducive environment. “I’m passionate about changing the lives of women and young people to an envied standard that would buy them the dignity they deserve,” he informed. He said people around him see him as a humble brother, which is a testimony to his humble background. He went on to stress the need for investing in the children as he aims at putting a courageous, committed, decent and dedicated drive to ensure equal rights for all, irrespective of one’s tribe, region, or political party background.

On uniting the country, he said there is an absolute need for a national dialogue because of the obvious political divide in the country wherein people fail to realise that there is only one Sierra Leone. “I will be very consistent in my approach towards peacebuilding to ensure a fair play with healthy conversation for all, irrespective of one’s background and political lines,” he avowed.
