NRA Promises To Hit Q2 Target

The Commissioner-General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA), Madam Jeneba Kpaka Bangura has recently promised to surpass the new second quarter revenue generations target that has been set by the Ministry of Finance for the second quarter of the financial year 2025.
She made this assurance during an interview with an online television station while giving updates on the general performance of the Commission.
According to the latest supplementary budget, the NRA failed to meet it first quarter target set by the Ministry of Finance by a small margin.
During the interview, the NRA, C.G stated that plans are underway to broaden the tax base of the country and to include other items or sectors. The Authority, she said, will also ensure that mining and petroleum companies to fully honour their tax obligation.
She further noted that the Commission has now expanded its operation base to other areas like Jui community so that Tax payers can register and pay their taxes with ease and on time.
Madam Bangura also stated that NRA has put in place new policies for Clearing and Forwarding Agents and that of Extractive and Petroleum Industry, adding that some of agreements government often signs with contractors was also responsible for the downward trend of revenue generation this year.
The NRA C.G furthered that the institution is working with other players like civil society to control the issuance of duty waiver to private investors, noting that there should be a friendly business atmosphere for private investors in the country.
