Over Punctuality of MPs: Hon. Joseph Williams-Lamin Recognized by the Speaker of Parliament

During the parliamentary sitting held at the Chamber of Parliament on Thursday, 29 May 2025, Hon. Joseph Williams-Lamin, representing the people of Bo District, was officially recognized by the Speaker of Parliament for his diligent and timely participation in parliamentary activities.

Since assuming office, Hon. Joseph Williams-Lamin has distinguished himself as one of the most outstanding Members of Parliament, consistently demonstrating exceptional attendance and active engagement in debates. His commitment to serving his constituents and contributing meaningfully to parliamentary proceedings has set a commendable example.

In his remarks, the Speaker of Parliament took the opportunity to announce that the Committee on Technical and Higher Education would be officially returned to Hon. Joseph Williams-Lamin in recognition of his dedicated service.

At the conclusion of this Sixth Parliament, the Rt. Hon. Speaker pledged to personally write to all political parties to acknowledge the diligence of these exemplary MPs.

The Speaker also expressed appreciation for Members of Parliament who arrive punctually, before 10:00 a.m., for parliamentary sittings.

“I am extremely proud of all MPs who make the effort to attend Parliament on time during debates and committee activities,” he said.

Hon. Thomas further called on all MPs to maintain punctuality and dedication in their work, emphasizing that their service is ultimately for the benefit of the people of Sierra Leone.
