The Minister of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie, arrived in Algeria on the evening of Sunday, 13th July 2025, in preparation for the 44th Annual General Meeting and Symposium of Shelter Afrique Development Bank.

Upon arrival at the airport, he was warmly welcomed by his Algerian counterpart, Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City, Mr. Mohamed Tarek Belaribi and the Ambassador of Sierra Leone in Algeria.
The symposium, which focuses on the theme “Self-Reliance and Sovereignty in the Housing Industry in Africa: Opportunities and Challenges,” provides a platform for African nations to exchange ideas and forge partnerships to address housing sector challenges across the continent.

In addition to participating in the symposium, Minister Senesie is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with several African and international stakeholders on the sidelines of the event. These talks aim to explore avenues for collaboration, seek technical and financial support, and strengthen Sierra Leoneβs housing development initiatives.

The Minister is accompanied by the Community Engagement and Communication Specialist of the Sierra Leone Land Administration Project, Abdul Fonti.
The Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning remains committed to advancing sustainable housing solutions and fostering regional cooperation to meet the growing needs of Sierra Leoneβs population.
