SLPHA Under Construction… As Yankuba Askia Bio Determines To Strengthen Ports Security

Under the dynamic leadership of Director General Yankuba Askia Bio, the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), is implementing strategic initiatives to strengthen security at the port and improve user experience at the Queen Elizabeth the Second Quay Port of Freetown.
Currently, the SLPHADirector General Yankuba Askia Bio is undertaking two major projects that are currently underway namely the transformation of the car park into an ultra-modern parking facility and the construction of a spacious, comfortable waiting room for visitors and port users.
These initiatives being spearheaded by the SLPHA D.G is also being executed under the supervision of the Ports Engineering Services Department, led by Director Lansana Sheriff.


Once completed, these facilities will not only improve the functionality of the Port but also reflect SLPHA’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in port operations.
According to several workers and customers at the quay, these latest developments, centered on the footbridge area aiming to enhance security by creating a controlled environment where access is limited to authorized individuals. By safeguarding vehicles and equipment, and ensuring proper identity verification, SLPHA is actively working to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure the safety of all port users.
As the Port of Freetown plays a central role in Sierra Leone’s international trade, providing a secure and welcoming environment for importers and the business community remains a top priority.
Under Mr.Yankuba Askia Bio’s proactive and energetic leadership, SLPHA continues to address security challenges head-on, paving the way for a safer, more efficient, and user-friendly port environment for all stakeholders.
