As part of its commitment to producing accurate and reliable statistics, Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL) has concluded a mid-term review process for the ongoing 2025 Sierra Leone Integrated Household Survey (SLIHS ’25).

The mid-term review is a critical assessment conducted halfway through the SLIHS’25 data collection phase. Its purpose was to evaluate progress, ensure quality, assess effectiveness, identify challenges, and recommend improvements for the remaining stages. The overall goal was to ensure the survey delivers reliable and useful data for evidence-based policy-making, planning, and national development.

The week-long review was held across five regional cities — Kenema, Bo, Makeni, Port Loko, and Waterloo, targeting key personel involved in the project: supervisors, monitors, technical coordinators, the national coordinator, and data science & management staff.

SLIHS is a comprehensive national survey designed to gather detailed socio-economic data from households across Sierra Leone. It provides vital insights on demographics, income and expenditure, health, education, employment, housing, and other essential indicators down to the lowest administrative levels.

The data generated from SLIHS ’25 will be crucial for updating poverty indicators, revising household expenditure patterns, updating the consumption basket for the Consumer Price Index (CPI), and refining the national poverty profile.
