Today, the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation had the honour of hosting a high-level delegation from the People’s Republic of China, led by Madam Wang Yanling, Secretary of the CPC Party Leadership Group and Executive Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial People’s Congress.
The delegation also included:

Mr. Wang Runtao, Deputy Secretary-General and Director-General of the Standing Committee, Mr. Si Qingchuan, Vice President of the Hubei Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Mr. Cheng Lizhi, Director of the Coordination Division, Research Office, Ms. Zhang Min, Director of the European and African Affairs Division, Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Ms. Wang Ting, Division Director-Level Member of the Secretariat.

During the meeting, the Honourable Minister Salima Monorma Bah reaffirmed the Ministry’s appreciation for China’s long-standing support to Sierra Leone. She highlighted the growing partnership between both countries in the areas of digital transformation, capacity building, and technical cooperation. The Minister also expressed strong interest in expanding collaboration around innovation, infrastructure, and human capital development.

The Chinese delegation shared ongoing initiatives by the Hubei Provincial People’s Congress and its institutions to support technology and innovation partnerships with universities in Sierra Leone. They spoke about the value of building real connections between people, sharing technical expertise, and creating partnerships that last, all as meaningful ways to drive progress together.
