About Us

The Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority (NSRPA) was established by the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority Act, 2012, as amended in 2022. The Act mandates the NSRPA as the national infrastructure to provide adequate protection to the public, workers and the environment against the harmful effects of radiation and to provide for other related matters in Sierra Leone.

Recent departures of several key personnel have significantly limited the institution’s capacity to fulfil its mandate. To address this, the Authority intends to fill these vacancies to ensure continuity in meeting its obligations and uphold its standards.

The authority is looking for highly qualified Sierra Leoneans to fill the following vacancies.

Remuneration

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

A BSc degree in Physical Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or Geology)

A post-graduate qualification in Radiation Protection and Nuclear Security. 

Minimum of 10 years working experience in the field of radiation protection and nuclear security.

Experience in implementing and managing radiation safety programs, as well as administrative and supervisory roles.

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Scientific Officer

Entry Grade

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

A BSc degree in Physical Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or Geology)

Postgraduate Course in Radiation Protection and Safety will be an added advantage. 

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a 2 weeks intensive induction training course.

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Accountant

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics.

A minimum of five years of Accounting, Financial Analyst or internal auditing experience at the national level in the private and/or public sector.

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Finance Officer

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

Bachelor’s Degree – University Degree in Accounting and Finance.

Minimum of three years’ experience in accounting and finance at the national level in the private and/or public sector. 

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Human Resources Officer

Qualifications, Experience and Language

A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, business administration, or public administration.

A minimum of five years of human resource management experience at the national level in the private and/or public sector. 

Excellent partnering skills and stakeholder management; outstanding communication skills, including interview and presentation techniques, with the ability to convey complex ideas with clarity.

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Administrative Officer

Entry Level

Grade 7

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or Human Resources Management.

At least five years of experience in managing and overseeing business operations. This should include experience in strategic planning. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and labourlaws.

Experience managing a large team and multiple departments

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Legal Officer

Entry Level

Grade 7

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized institution.

The possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Public Financial Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance or related discipline from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

At least 5 years proven experience in preparing legal drafts, reviewing legislation, interpreting and applying international legal instruments.

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Internal Auditor

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, finance or economics.

A minimum of five years of internal auditing experience at the national level in the private and/or public sector. 

Excellent partnering skills and stakeholder management; and outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, including interview and presentation techniques, with the ability to convey complex ideas engagingly with clarity, diplomacy and precision.

Excellent oral and written command of English.

Position: Procurement Officer

Functions / Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Logistics, Purchasing and Supply, Business Studies, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing

Minimum of five years’ experience in Purchasing and Logistics, Purchasing and Supply, Business Studies, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing at the national level in the private and/or public sector. 

Outstanding ability to negotiate contracts, multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently. Accurate attention to detail and goal-oriented, organised team player. Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels

The applicant should possess an excellent command of both oral and written English.
