On the occasion of this year’s World Press Freedom Day, we remind ourselves as newsmen that the duty and thrust should be to get the facts right and not otherwise. We owe it to ourselves to maintain ethical and appreciable standards much to the admiration of all and sundry. Our fact finding missions shouldn’t be treated with levity. In like manner, governments and nations the world over should continue to create safer and better media spaces. Journalism is not and should not be a crime. Let us therefore understand these issues and continue to do things with precision. Blessed World Press Freedom Day to us all. Remember, what is right is right and that which is wrong is wrong!
